Amboseli NP

Elephants roam beneath Africa’s tallest peak, and the wind carries the scent of dust and acacia. In Amboseli, mornings begin with pink skies behind Kilimanjaro when you open your tent and end with golden light falling over the savannah. Moreover, it is a prima bird-watching area due to it's seasonal lakes.

There is one main public campsite inside the park at the Kimana gate (East side), yet for a more secluded experience it is best to stay just outside of the Meshanani gate, at a campsite run by local Maasai. The park is not fenced so wildlife passes through.

Expert tip: Being outside of the offical park boundries gives exciting opportunities! Do a nightdrive, cruise on the dried seasonal lake or track lions in the dunes. Highly advised to take the local guide!
