Castle Forest Lodge

Up in the forested area of Mt. Kenya lies the Castle Forest Lodge. Both the main house and smaller huts are built in a beautiful wooden log cabin style and they have a good campsite on the premise with facilities. There is even a small natural swimming pool at the main house.

This place is great to hang out, enjoy the cool and wind down. Activities range from horse riding in the forest, top notch birdwatching, fishing and easy going to long hikes.

Beautiful waterfalls and a rich diversity of vegetation make it feel like you have gone back hundreds of years in time in to the tropical rainforest. If you're lucky you might spot elephants passing through.

Expert tip: Depleted all your food resources? Enjoy simple yet good food or cold drinks on the veranda of the main house. This is an amazing stop over on your way back from the north.
