Ol Pejeta
Right next to the "climbers capital", Nanyuki, lies Ol Pejeta park. Easily accessible, very well organised and packed with wildlife! This is the place to go to for high chances of spotting those rare animals like lions and rhinos.
Given it's accessibility, during daytime the park can attract quite some visitors, making it feel less exclusive. Especially in the Eastern part where most wildlife is concentrated. But don't be fooled! When the gates close and people retreat, these campsites become as wild as can get. Don't be surprised by regular visits of hippos, elephants, buffalos and other wildlife whilst enjoying the sunset or during the night. All of that with that stunning view of Mt. Kenya in the backdrop....
Expert tip: staying for 2 nights? Take a day to venture into the western, less visited, side of the park. Wildlife is still around and chances are you'll be all alone when spotting that lion!
