Samburu National Park
Tucked away in northern Kenya, Samburu offers a quieter, more off-the-beaten-path safari experience. It’s a stunning place to wildcamp — with elephants by the river and rare species like the reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, generooks and Somali ostrich. You will get some of the most dramatic sunsets you’ll ever see. Just be prepared: it’s remote, it’s hot, and it’s totally worth it.
Expert tip: There are a couple of lodges in Samburu NP where you can stop over for dip in the pool, lunch and a refreshing drink if you are in need of cooling down.
