Tsavo West
Tsavo West feels ancient and alive. Red earth, black lava, green springs — all under skies that shift from searing blue to burning orange. Wildlife moves like shadows across the rocks. This is camping at its rawest, and most unforgettable. Wildlife can be hard to spot as the shrubs are dense, requiring good tracking and spotting skill. Yet ever more rewarding when found. You can easily spend days to explore the scenic hills and mountains of the northern section.
Most campsites have 0 network and getting there will take time (the roads often present some unexpected obstacles). Be prepared and self sufficient, you wil have the greatest adventure. Keep an eye out for the lesser kudu and elusive Klipspringers!
Expert tip: You can exit the park at the A23 when heading towards the Taita hills. Make sure to check the conditions of the roads beforehand with park wardens.
